While it is easy to find slabs of butcherblock countertop online from a number a merchants, pickings get much slimmer when it comes to doing custom sizes, shapes, or full kitchen layouts. Often the only way to get exactly what you need is to find a local woodworking shop that is capable of doing butcher block top. That is unless you work with an authorized retailer of John Boos butcher block that specializes in all kinds of custom work! We can help you put together pricing for about any project you can imagine, and with our expertise we can make your project surprisingly affordable. All that said, what are some the things we can do?
Custom Sizes – Custom sizes are available as large as 168” x 60” in Edge Grain and Blended tops, and 96” x 42” in End Grain tops. In fact, edge grain and blended tops can be manufactured even larger than that with a seam.
Custom Shapes – Nearly any shape you would like is possible in John Boos block. Whether it is a peninsula top with a full rounded end, a semi-circle bar overhang, an oval top, or notched corner top, it can be precisely crafted to your specifications.
Edge Profiles – Your butcher block can ship with radius edges, beveled edges ogee edges, or the standard slightly eased edge.
Rounded Corners – If you want to make sure your island corners aren’t sharp, or simply want to add a radius to a single corner in a high traffic area, you can specify a radius of any size.
Cutouts – Sink cutouts (top mount and under mount), range top cutouts, and scrap hole cutouts are all available.
Mitered Cuts – If you have an L shape in your kitchen or would like to join two tops at an angle, your tops can be mitered in the factory allowing for the grain to flow through a corner or angle.
Joints – Any kind of joint between two pieces can be prepped in the factory to allow for easy field installation. The tops are routed out from the underside to create space for bolts that pull the two pieces together.
